Bette Midler sang
You’ve got to give a little, take a little,
and let your poor heart break a little.
That’s the story of, that’s the glory of love.
We all want to love and be loved, to be respected and we all hope for a better future.
But when you realise there a over one hundred million children attending schools around the world where the teachers just don’t care, where the kids themselves figure out that school is a waste of time and dropout – many even in primary school, and that these children and young people are condemned to a life where they will probably never get a permanent job but raise families, cause that’s what people do, and they and their children will live in abject poverty with no prospects and no hope.
But it does not have to be like that.
The Goal of the Billion Child Foundation is, by 2044, to have enabled a billion children, mainly in developing countries, to attend schools which operate as centres of excellence.
The Billion Child Foundation has already trained principals and teachers from schools attended by over 2 million children how to turn their schools into centres of excellence. Over 86% of learners at schools whose principals BCF had trained who wrote the matriculation examination passed but far more importantly 68% obtained a university or technical university matriculation pass!! These schools have turned into centres of excellence. And most are in the most rural areas where unemployment, gangs, violence of all types, teenage and pre-teenage pregnancy and substance abuse if rife!! It can be done.
I am going to ask you to play a role in permanently changing the lives of millions of children by clicking here and making your donation.
One GBP / 1.30 USD or R19.50 will enable BCF to provide 3 children with the opportunity of attending schools which operate as centres of excellence in countries around the world. Please consider making a small monthly or annual donation. You can do that by clicking here
BCF currently operates in 3 African countries – South Africa, Ghana and Lesotho but will, with your donations, expand to 11 developing countries next year. Their Ministries of Education have requested BCF to help them. Now I am asking you to help the millions of children currently in their schools.
