The police commander of the Sasolburg district in South Africa reported that call outs to family violence in the township of Refengkgotso had declined by more than 50% since 2014/15.

During 2014/15 BCF trained of pastors from 74 congregations to present Win-Win Parenting Skills Programme in the Refengkgotso township in the Free State Province of South Africa.

Not only had pastors trained parents, but almost every Sunday and during visits to congregants homes they had also spoken of the importance of parents becoming leaders of harmonious families and that strong families would build a strong community.

BCF immediately commissioned a survey of 300 parents in Refengkgotso which revealed that parents have adopted the values discussed and parenting skills taught.

In their day to day lives parents had replaced family violence and verbal abuse with considered communication; dislike or contempt for their children with understanding and love; dysfunctional family life with loving family life.
