Why teachers are overloaded 633 401 The Billion Child Foundation

The OECD Teaching and Learning International Survey conducted a survey of 260,000 teachers at 15,000 schools in 48 countries which revealed that teachers claim to spend 52% of their time preparing lessons and teaching. While one can understand time being invested in the other activities listed on the table below, it begs the questions whether head teachers/principals are overloading teachers and should ensure teachers are able to spend most of their time on preparing lessons effectively and teaching with passion?
