Win-Win Parent Training programmes were envisaged and developed for The Billion Child Appeal by our founder Alan J Whitaker B Comm, MBL, FIoD.
A self-made man, despite the death of his father when he was fifteen which rendered his family impecunious, he completed the last two years of his schooling and two university degrees by part-time study. Despite, or perhaps because of this ‘handicap’, he had by the age of 23 risen through the ranks to become Assistant Group Accountant of a medium-sized company.
In his early thirties he first managed a cheese manufacturer and then a rapidly growing trucking company but resigned in order to follow his dream of enabling millions of men, women and children all over the world experience enjoyable family life and to be cherished at their school or workplace.
In 1978 he founded Future Winners International Ltd which assists top management to change the culture of their organisations enabling employees, suppliers, customers all to feel a strong emotional attachment. During this time he probably influenced the lives of nearly two million people in 26 countries.
In 2005 he began researching and writing a series of 12 books providing parents with the practical skills they need to raise their children to be ambitious, confident and respectful children able to become successes each within his/her aptitude.
In 2008/9 he taught teachers at pre-primary and primary schools in South Africa how to run practical skills training programmes.
Since 2008 he has taught hundreds of educators how to conduct their National Parenting Skills Training Programmes which will result in the parents of over 2 million parents attending training this year
He was elected a Fellow of the Institute of Directors in 1996.
