The Federated Management Institute has invited our founder Alan J Whitaker to be its keynote speaker at their Rural Education Conference on the 10th August 2023 in South Africa.
The title of his address will be “The greatest breakthrough in education in 50 years?”
During this address he will explain why BCF is probably the only organisation with a proven, scalable, replicable and cost effective programme capable of transforming every school in every country into a centre of excellence. He will also explain how the programme empowers Ministries of Education to transform the habits of teachers and school management to those appropriate to high performance schools.
He will report back on the transformation of 1,518 South African primary and secondary schools whose School Leadership Teams were trained by their senior district managers during 2022.
The year after senior officials of the Lesotho Ministry of Education and Training had trained school management teams, the Ministry reported to UNICEF who funded the programme that “The pass rate in year 7 at under-performing primary schools increased by 61% compared to the 20 control group of schools”.
In South Africa where thousands of school leadership teams were trained to transform their schools into centres of excellence, the percentage of students gaining a university or technical university entrance matriculation certificate at schools whose school leadership teams had been trained increased from 53% in 2015 to 73% in 2020 before dropping to 67% in 2021 due to the reduction in the number of days schooling due to Covid
