It gives me great please to introduce you to Dr Vongai Blessing Chakanyuka who has graciously agreed to join BCF as our Zimbabwe Ambassador
She holds a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Education from the University of Witwatersrand in South Africa and Master and Bachelor of Education degrees in Educational Leadership and Policy studies from the University of Zimbabwe.
She also holds a Diploma in Education majoring in Biology, Physics and Chemistry from the same university.
Before joining the University of Witwatersrand in 2019, Dr Chakanyuka was a teacher, head of department and school head for over 20 years giving her vast experience in teaching, leadership and management of educational institutions in and outside Zimbabwe.
Her working experience started in 2001 as a secondary school science teacher. She has been an assistant Principal at Queen Elizabeth Girls school.
She is currently a lecturer in the departments of Educational Administration & Leadership and in Early Childhood Development & Junior Education at the University of Zimbabwe.
She also lectures in Education Foundations at the University of Witwatersrand.
Dr Chakanyuka is the founder of Lionsgate Private College group of schools and has extensive experience leading culturally diverse students.
Her qualifications in Monitoring and Evaluation gives her an edge towards projects management and evaluations in educational institutions.
She is a board member at Kutama Catholic College, St Augustine Catholic College, Simbarashe First School and St Charles Luwanga in charge of curriculum development. She is an educational consultant for the Zimbabwe Catholic Bishops Conference and helps in advisory role within Catholic schools.
Dr Chakanyuka also volunteers as a board chair for FreshStart Non-Governmental Organisation that promotes mental health and self-care in youths exposed to substance abuse.
She consequently has vast experience in school consultations and registrations in Zimbabwe, application of contemporary concepts in school management, recruitment and selection processes and effective financial management concepts.
