The Billion Child Foundation has been commissioned to raise funds to transform schools attended by three quarters of a million children in South Africa into centres of excellence!
This provides a massive opportunity for you to play a role in transforming not only the lives of the children currently at school but also those who will attend in future years because the International Schools Centre of Excellence Programme is sustainable. Our experience in transforming thousands of schools has taught us that once a school management team have begun transforming their school, the teachers and parents never allowed it to slide backwards even when the head teacher/principal has been replaced.
The Programme empowers school management to gain the buy in of teachers to transform their daily habits to those of a highly successful teachers at a high performance schools. This means they are habitually at school on time, prepare lessons effectively and deliver their lessons with appropriate expertise and passion.
The consequence of this transformation is the radical improvement in the percentage of children who gain a university entrance matriculation pass. At rural schools in the Free State province of South Africa where the majority of children live in informal homes and poverty is endemic, nearly 80% of young people graduate from high school with a university or technical university admission matriculation pass.
BCF has empowered school management teams of thousands of schools to make this change and now invites you to contribute towards the £180,000 required to transform 2,115 schools attended by 817,000 children in the Limpopo province of South Africa which abuts the Zimbabwe and Kruger National Park borders.
This may sound like a lot of money but it constitutes an investment of only £85 per school or 22p per child. An investment of only £50 would transform the lives of 227 children.
