- The Billion Child Appeal funds and facilitates national parent training programmes.
- Through binding agreements with national, provincial and state departments of education, parent training workshops are conducted annually at every pre-primary and primary school for a minimum period of ten years.
- Our programmes link parents, who determine each child’s character and personality before they go to school, with teachers who educate and teach life skills providing every child with the opportunity to escape poverty and poverty related disadvantages.
- Parents learn the full range of practical skills they need to raise their children to become ambitious, dignified and emotionally mature adults.
- Parents are trained at their local school in their mother tongue by teachers who themselves are parents and have been trained and accredited to present our workshops.
- Parents attend training every year thereby annually reaffirming the need for consistent application of boundaries, rules of the house and of an enabling inspirational home environment.
